For one thing, we were facing a much more experienced team with plenty of block. Also, the chef was vastly disappointing, cooking us up only one reroll. (The Amazons actually had more rerolls over the course of the game than we did... many, many extra reroll kickoffs happened.) The trees were formidable on the line, which is good... and the backup allowed us to run seven out there every time, which seems fair against a relatively light-hitting Amazon team. (We did lose a couple more on the last drive. And it's worth mentioning that their MB blitzer was knocked out of the game on a failed dodge early.)
The bottom line is this: I don't think halflings would (or should) be favored against an equally experienced team, but based on their performance here, I'd at least give them an underdog's chance. Of course, now we actually need to track down another rookie-ish team and see how that holds up in the real world. But I'm not dreading it, which is a good sign, right?”
