“This was a nuts game! Lots of failures for the rats but still high scoring.
This was the Raiders first game out of 50 to be playing other rats. Both teams had similarities but the Cheese Heads were going for more of a passing game aided by an ag4 thrower. First TD 3 of the Cheese Heads GRs swooped up the flanks and scored quickly after 2nd turn passing. We responded with a One turn from Skeetz. After this we started to have problems with various gfis and double skulls hitting us hard. Zloos Tharlo was badly hurt from one. The Cheese heads scored again leaving us one turn which Skeetz failed to work his magic in. Second half was a dingdong battle, with the Cheese heads also failing some actions so the ball was going back and forth. When it seemed they might get to 3-1 we managed to take the ball and equalise through a Stormvermin (Ritz Ditz). After that we managed to take the ball from their drive, it was the one time in the game it seemed we could win. But the required 2+ dodge to keep us safe failed. The Cheese heads came back and scored in turn 6. We then moved up the flank but a Cheese Head blitzer dodged through and knocked down our carrier. The ball was thrown to their td line so another of their GRs picked up. Final turn we blitzed him into the crowd and the fans threw the ball back into the middle of the pitch, just within the movement range of Snutz Bolo who scored! For the finale the Cheese Heads used a sidestep GR and some blocks and blitz very well to put him just 10 squares from our endzone. He had to use one reroll to catch the ball and then as he passed our last defence he failed a dodge and appeared to drop dead! What a finish. The apo saved him but not his neck and career.
