“Frank gives a good description of the report. We were well beaten and again struggled somewhat. Our cage slowly advance for a few turns but just before getting in striking distance it was broken and the Bcentaur taken down. Possibly we should have sent the carrier and two support through a hole we briefly made but I they may still have been overwhelmed. The blitzes in and out made the cage advance tough. We even didn't fair well in the ko and casualty department so after going 1 down the result was never in doubt. A td in the end after an escaping hobgoblin (who earlier failed a pickup but got it together next time round) got the ball in Thunderbone's area made the scoreline a little more respectable. Well done Frank!”
“Pimlico Profano strode out to match number 2. After winning the toss, they elected to kick, and sent a dud ball deep into the Ziggurats' half, that duly bounced into touch. Lord Thunderbone opted to carry and started the drive towards Profano's line. Marsham circled behind the chaos dwarves and the elves hovered within striking distance, waiting for a breach in the cage. That break finally came, after a few heavy knocks had weakened both sides. The ball was duly spilled by Lupus and fed away, and after another couple of turns of give-and-take, the chaos dwarves coming off worse, Warwith picked up to pass to Lupus for the first touch down of the game.
The second half began with two of Profano's four KO'd players returning to the field, while all three of the Ziggurats' players, Lord Zhar Stronghooves included, stayed in the dugout. Wilto collected the kick and fed to Marsham, and with the elves strongly outnumbered the blighted dwarves, they pushed them back enough to push down the right flank and dodge to another touchdown. But all was not lost for Zar-Naggarund - after the restart, with some shaky hands from Munta Quickdrop (a fitting name, perhaps?), a couple of lucky dodges and a final pick up by Lord Thunderbone saw the chaos dwarves draw the scoreline to 2-1 at the final whistle.
Good game - see you on the pitch again, I trust.”
