#16 Oserara Bladedemon – Fractured Skull (-AV)
This is more for my own benefit, so I can see where I've messed up, and what I can remember to do in future. Everything here is in the replay, so if you want to read a drastically one-sided turn-by-turn account of this game, carry on. My turn is in red, my opponent's turn is in blue.

My team recieves, and a well-placed Runner catches the ball from the kick of turn one, but I almost immediately fail a one-dice block in an attempt to make space to push through the Skaven front line.
With nothing protecting the ball, the Skaven strike my ball carrier, who completely fumbles a Dump-Off pass, was knocked down, and knocked out.
A promising start.

I decide to try stabbing a Gutter Runner, to see how the Assassin's skill works, and roll a five between two dice, not even breaking the weak rat's armour.
A Gutter Runner grabs the ball and runs for the end zone, but doesn't dare to risk the second GFI roll to score. I grasp some good luck, as another Gutter Runner fails a dodge and crashes to the floor.

I push back, my Assassin dodging away and racing towards the ball, making a GFI to reach its handler. Another attempt to stab succeeds, knocking out the rat. With a succession of actually decent rolls, one of my linemen dodges, Goes For It and snatches the ball up, two squares from my end zone.
The rats respond by pushing my elves around, and then blitzing by ball carrier. By a stroke of luck, that fails.

I quickly get to work setting up a cage, which is an odd tactic for elves to make, I'll admit, but the rats aren't exactly threatening. I then place a Blitzer just in reach of the end zone, ready to score.
The rats equally quickly start guarding the front of my cage, knocking my elves around and marking the ball carrier.

I fight back, determined to score. I tackle the nearby rats, forcing them out of the way, stabbing one of them and breaking his ribs, clearing a pathway. Catching a quick hand-over, one of my linemen rushes forward, and... I realise I've chosen Move instead of Pass, leaving the receiver of said pass standing pointlessly within reach of the end zone. The only thing I can do is use the Blitzer to support the ball handler, in that hope that something is better than nothing.
From there, the rats wind up for another blitz, and roll a skull.

The Assassin charges in for another stab, attempting to remove the Gutter Runner marking the ball carrier, and completely fails again. But I manage to set up a second cage. Stupidly, not a single player is closer than ten squares from the Ratttttts' end zone.
The Skaven try again to trap my cage, this time setting up rats in front of and beside the squadron of Dark Elves.

I set up another player within reach of the end zone, and prepare to score. Pushing the rats around to make more space, I stab the Gutter Runner again, and actually manage to stun it.
The rats again shuffle around, this time ignoring my useless cage, and instead mark my assassin, who has been a nuisance so far, and my nearby lineman, the only players in any position to reach the end zone.

Nearing half time, I blitz one rat away from a lineman in my half, charge the ball carrier towards him, and hand the ball off, which is promptly dropped, removing any chance of scoring.
The rats, no longer caring about the ball, blitz my Assassin, fracturing his skull and making him much easier to kill in the future.

Half time reached, and the score is 0-0.

At the start of the second half, I get a quick turn to move and blitz.
Then turn one kicks in, and the rats grab the ball and start to push forward.
I've already got two Runners within reach of the end zone, so I blitz the ball carrier, knocking both players down.

Again, the rats grab the ball, and push their way to the other side of the pitch.
I give chase, but roll two 1s in an attempt to dodge and fail miserably.

The rats score. 1-0.
We set up again, I launch a couple of blocks and fail miserably.

A skaven Blitzer charges for the ball which has landed only a few steps from my end zone, but doesn't quite reach and marks the nearest elf instead.
I fail another dodge after a handful of ineffectual blocks.

The rats push further forward and score again. 2-0.
We set up, I grab the kicked ball, pass it forward and set up a cage.

The rats strike at the cage and swarm in front, stopping me from pushing forward.
I place a Lineman within reach of the end zone, but cannot repair the cage before my blocks fail.

The rats bring down the ball carrier and attempt to pick up the ball, which is juggled between four of the skaven before one gets their paws on it properly.
I attempt a three-dice block on a Gutter Runner, and roll a [Both Down] [Skull] [Both Down] which is just the worst luck, especially on turn seven of the second half when you're out of rerolls and can't make up for mistakes later.

On turn eight, the rats score once again.
Game over.

The game finishes 3-0, thanks to a mixture of poor luck and crippling ineptitude on my part.
