After the last match, the Sunken Horrors have faced quite a blow, and now have to face the pitch with only two true powerhouses: Sphlynx and Hghrunir. This lack of power meant that for this match, the team had to rely on a more basic team, and against frontloaded Wood Elves, that turned out to be a recipe for a loss. Sure, the low AV and some Mighty Blow meant that the Sunken Horrors outnumbered the Champions now and then, but not by such numbers that it really mattered.
While the Champions had some difficulty scoring in the first half, thanks to a failed pass that ended up in Griff's hands, the Sunken Horrors were unable to protect the ball from the agile Wardancers ... and quickly lost possession of the ball again. With the field spread all over the pitch, it was easy enough for the Champions to take the ball and SCORE.
Failure to protect the ball marred the game plan of the Sunken Horrors in the second half as well. So undermanned in power, it was easy for the Champions to take directed hits at vulnerable Drowned Ones. At one point Griff was ready for a desperation pass, but the throw was missed and the Champions took over, and finally SCORED again...
A game which was decided by the lack of protective power on the side of the Sunken Horrors, and the relative ease by which the Champions ran the pitch despite low morale and training.
