A very frustrating game - such was the disparity between the experience levels of the two teams, it felt like the Wood Elves were toying with the Pact, even with Morg in the team. He was carried from the field at the end of the match with a smashed collar bone. He did cause the sole Wood Elf casualty, though.

A mid-1st half score by the Wood Elves left the Pact with 4 turns to equalise, and with no protection from the two Strip Ball Wardancers, and an overextended cage, Belial Painwright was dispossessed and the drive faltered.

Second half went better - a mistake by the Wood Elves allowed the Kneecappers to equalise at last, forced to score by the proximity of the two Wardancers.

The last drives featured a double-switch of play that left the Chaos team out of position, but some last ditch blitzes saw the ball go loose twice, only to be recovered for the winner, the pick-up in the last turn having to be rerolled for a much tighter finish than had been expected.

The fact the Wood Elves outblocked the Pact is telling - all game, the Marauders dutifully tried to man-mark the slippery Elves, and all game, they got pounded. Having at last managed to field a full time side with no Journeymen, two of the new recruits were carried lifeless from the field, leaving me back to square one with 2 Journeymen for next match - truly the salt rubbed into the wounds!”
