#11 Roofing Shovel (V) – Dead (RIP)
FUMBBL Cup X round 2

A good game against a very good opponent. I knew the Tentacles were going to be a problem, and they were. I made a few mistakes that I feel contributed to the loss, but even without those I still could have lost in OT. First mistake, and I kick myself for doing it, was burning a reroll in T7 1st half taking blocks that had nothing to do with scoring instead of just trying to dodge my ballcarrier away and using the reroll on the tentacles roll. Another mistake came in T8 of the 2nd half when I blocked a rotter away from the ball. In hindsight, I should have followed that block up and put 2 TZs on the pestigor that ultimately scored the TD. But overall it was a very challenging game for us both and I feel I played decently for being sick. Sad to lose another shovel (the 5th one now), but Stonetroll will miss Lorefood the ballcarrier and may consider retiring him with a -MA bust. I don't think my Babe ever came into play, but Boomer was very useful including scoring a CAS. I could have spent 150k of my own money to buy a wizard, and it almost certainly would have helped, but at the time I was thinking I might need that money later in the tournament if I made it past this round. I won't 2nd guess myself too much over that.

Grats, Stonetroll, and thanks for an enjoyable match. Although I didn't participate in the 'Pick a winner' thread in the forums because I couldn't pick myself, you are the team I would have picked. But I didn't want to pick you when I knew I might have to play you early in the tournament. I'll be quietly rooting for you the rest of the way.

P.S. Use it well.

#4 Lorefood – Smashed Ankle (-MA)
Flashback already did a good job of summing up the match and the most crucial turns. Just repeating that the game was very close and really enjoyable to play because it kept going from from one end to the other, and it felt like even small things could have changed the whole game. On last turn I was already looking to blitz the ag4 runner with clawpomb if he had followed.

While the smashed ankle on the ballcarrier is certainly nasty, I think I will hold onto him at least for the rest of the tourney.

PS. Thanks for the Shovel ;)
