#9 Earth – Damaged Back (NI)
Wow.. just wow. A tough one thats for sure. Well the ratings said we were even and thats how it proved for much of the game. Defensively heaps of what i did came off. And on offense my drive was riskless and pretty damn perfect. The only times I pushed it on offense I got reamed. No big injury issues but there were some key casualties that helped sway the game for the second half.

Cant catch a break with these guys... I thought I deserved the equaliser but not to be. Ive got the team competitive but they are still really struggling to put teams away and get those W's.

Twahnlows:

3 Votes: #5 Faelan the Fleet - All the skills to be the key ball carrier for the Ruffians.... and pulled off the game changing play. If he had failed the pick up or fumbled the ball I probably would have won. Instead he reversed things beautifully.

2 Votes: #2 Breanainn the Noble - Was on the end of the miraculous game changing play. Even managed to stun the only frog within cooee as he set sail for the line. Oustanding play... always a threat with his Pile on ability.. a real menace. A massive Casualty late in the first half made a big difference to the complexion of the game.

1 Vote: #4 Aed the Burned - A strong presence on the field. Stood firm for his team.. and had himself some frogs legs for dinner.

close and tense game again!

Slann stalled for the 1-0 half time lead but it came at a cost with Neck-o-flex succumbing to a niggle when Bréanainn the Noble hit him and Soul getting gang-fouled and hurt for the rest of the game.

With the superior numbers the dwarfs pressed for the quick score and despite a good leaping defence from the Boogaloo Fáelan the Fleet blitzed and dodged his way clear for the score.

With a chance to win the game Yakkity Yak broke around the Ruffians' defensive line but knew Fáelan was close behind him and stretched a little too far on the GFI. He fell, the ball was losse, and the dwarfs decided they could play elf-ball. Fáelan's pickup was clean and his long pass to Éanne AuMellan was perfect. Éanne ran forward and handed off to Bréanainn who blitzed through the only defensive frog and despite a scrambling attempt to throw up some resistance he marched home.

The dwarfs hit hard on defence and thought they were done, but Jack Flash jumped-up and went into the endzone, The Jive came forward with the ball and tossed out the long bomb, his passing skill saw it sail accurately for half the length of the field but Jack Flash's nerves failed him and he spilt the catch, the ball, and the game.

1 vote: Jerkin, for taking the game up to the dwarfs and throwing 8 blocks in only 12 turns.

2 votes: Yakkity Yak, for the score, the running yards and the +ST that made him hard to handle.

3 votes: The Jive, for his ball-movement, his passes and his accurate long-bomb which could have snatched a draw from the jaws of defeat.
