I dominated the first half, taking out all but 3 players, going in 1-0 up. The second half started with a pitch invasion knocking down 6 of my players, including 2 of my best saurii and the superskink. Taking out a couple of saurii, and dropping me down to 3 on the pitch, Stonetroll had complete control. Luckily for me, he is a class coach who plays to win, and instead of taking a draw(which was easily achievable from there) he decided to play for the win.
Scoring on turn 4, he set up for a blitz...and promptly got it! His team swarmed into the backfield, surrounding the short kick, and his skaven linerat caught the bounced ball. Luckily for me, the linerat was on the edge of the group of players, and so using 3 of my 4 skinks, I mobbed it and popped the ball. At which point, my AG 5 grabbed the ball from 2 tz and sprinted off alone, chasing into the backfield. Despite being put down, he made a heroic -2d bd/bd block to take the ball back off the ball carrier and surviving another 4d, limped over the line for the 2-1, while the claws started to take their toll slightly too late.
Awesome fun game, from a great coach to play against. ”
