“The return of Russo to OBBA was maybe not as glorious as a man of his mighty stature (in all possible dimensions) deserved...but do not let it be said it was a damp squib of a game. Nay fellow FUMBBL'ers twas a game of great entertainment as two well balanced sides attempted to out-manover each other for a winning score.

The first half saw Wanderers recieve and try to press home maybe a little too eagerly for what would be their first TD. Amateurish attacking overexposed the ball carrier and the ball was lost to a swift Argentine counter-attack. As in 1986 there were strong suspisions of handball as Samuel appeared to carry...YES CARRY...the ball right down the pitch!!

Disgraceful as that may seem Wanderers tried their best to break the screen of Argentine players but could not make it through these immensely strong yet swift defenders favoured by Blocka. 1-0 to Blocka just coming up to half-time.

In the second half Blocka were keen on pushing home for a second score that would seal their win. Wanderers upped their game and made sure that Blocka spent the whole of the second half in their own half thanks to the philosophy of aggressive defending; pushing high up the pitch Bulton secured the ball and lined up to strike for the back line when suddenly Bermudez stepped in and threw himself infront of the Bulton scorer-to-be and stopped him with the last kick of the game.

Great game with the STR4 of the Suari just proving to be the critical edge over CD's with no Guard. Definately a fun start to the new season.
