Somewhere between waking up and going to the bog, Russo changed his mind and decided to visit the local greasy spoon cafe for a fry-up. On his way to Big Momma Ogre's Butty Shop, he bumped into an old lady and knocked pushed her out of the way.
After a long breakfast fuelled with plenty of tea, Russo decided to show up at the office to oversee the training of his players. The day passed without event and the squad were in high spirits with hopes of winning their game against the visiting German outfit who were currently top of the table.
Sadly kick-off saw just how Coach Russo's day had been a series of bad choices. For the whole evening all Russo saw on the pitch were great big grinning SKULLS in the form of his great grandsire moaning disappointment at his progeny; opposition players being PUSHED BACK shouting like little old ladies. For an hour and a half Russo sat pinned to his bench by the shocking horror show on display before him. At the end of the coach a brave assistant coach shook Russo out of his stupor and asked him if he was OK, all he got was a mumbled mouthful of gibberish.

T1 saw the Germans receive the ball and their mean attack managed to down the Bulton front line stunning a CD. They followed this up with a wide advance stunning a Bull Centaur too. With 4 players down and only two able to get back up there was a gaping hole in the defence, fortunately Bulton did just enough to keep Kaiserslaughtering at bay for a few turns, sadly the pressure told and the German wingers broke through for a score as the half time whistle went.
As pythrrr the spec said at half time when the score was 1-0; "the game was set for 1-1 until the blitz, that really ****** you" No wonder he disappeared off as the second half just became a procession, and Kaiserslaughtering ran in 2 more TD's. Bulton did manage two late casualties but they were just a fleeting glimpse of what should have been to taunt those Bulton fans who paid to watch this spectacle.
Tonight’s game was about as one sided as my victory in the previous round had been. The major disappointment was that whilst the last game had been a mismatch due to the CD / Gobbo pairing; this game on paper had been very nicely balanced. I was expecting a very tight game a bit like the Blocka game where it would come down to a single action/turn where everything changed for one side to score.
Sadly it was a horror show from T1, Kaiserslaughtering were ruthless and took their chances every time the CD's quad-skulled etc. With a slightly faster team you can sometimes get enough players back to cover and recover from a bad turn but with the pace and lack of agility of half of the CD team they were basically shafted.
We will get you next time!!!
Well played mate, a fun if somewhat frustrating game. You are my favourites to go up this year I think.”
