“Our vampire core continues to learn and evolve. Vicki Nelson failed a dodge attempting to score in the first half...but this was just to show off her agility as she darted through the bulls and dwarves to grab the ball and pass it out of trouble to Kate Lam, who scored at the end of the first half for a 1-0 lead. The second half, we suffered some pain on the first turn to even the sides up at 9 to 9. The nasty bull managed to take the handoff and after we knocked him to the ground, still got up and made the pickup for the TD to tie it at 1-1. With only 3 turns left (due to riot on kickoff reducing the time), a touchback gave us the chance to charge forward and we did...however, the ball was knocked loose on a 1d bull blitz and we were in trouble...but Mick Celluci came to the rescue - taking the ball and thanks to some good gazing to limit the tackle zones, blitzed forward and knocked the last hobgoblin to the ground and spirited into the endzone for the T16 win.
