Bouncin'more welcomed the Houston Soilers to their home field, Fish Stank Stadium with a raucous crowd filling the stands and pouring rain falling from the sky. The fans nodded knowingly to one another. The players nodded knowingly to one another. The coaches nodded knowingly to one another. Rain...a good sign in Fish Stank.
The fans were clearly excited for the Batrachians first ever home playoff game in the NWFL, as they opened both halves with riots! After the ref got the field cleared the game began with the toads receiving the ball having won the toss. Trell 'Get Some' Suggs got things rolling right away for the Batrachians, blitzing and piling on Saw'in Bones, the woodie enforcer, and KILLING HIM! They also gathered the ball into a cage, but who cares??? Death! Death on the field!!
The Soiler coach wasn't going to let the passing of his player go unpunished though, practically abandoning the north half of the field to surround Trell and lay the boot. Tweeeet! The offending player was ejected for a stun. And so went the next turn as well. The ball was advanced along the north sideline while the woodies were content to surround Trell and foul. Tweet! Another player off for causing a stun.
As Bouncin'more continued to advance the ball unopposed, Tear'ee Killyard SI'd Killis McGribbit on a block just before the woodies fouled Trell again! This time it was the Soiler Tree, Bubba McPow, and although not ejected, he also could not get Suggs off the field.
After the Batrachians consolidated their cage near the opposing endzone, the Soiler coach called on the Wizard to blast the formation! With a mighty rumble the ball of fire came roaring from the sky, and was promptly extinguished by the rain! It failed to hurt any of the four toads in the blast radius! The crowd laughed and jeered.
The Soiler coach was so disgusted he called in ANOTHER foul! This time it was the woodie Guard, Lor'Endzone White who laid the boot. Tweeet! Another woodie player ejected, but at least this time he KO'd Trell. Wait, could it be that was a local referee?!
Although the Soiler wardancers finally managed to put a little pressure on the ball late, the drive ended with Pall 'Freddy' Kruger waltzing in for the score. Houston's final turn of the half was uneventful.
After the riot to start the second half the woodies began their attack, rushing some players deep and attempting a pass to the ST4 'dancer War'In Moon. The pounding rain confounded Air McDare however, and the errant throw ended up in the center of the field.
A massive scrum ensued with both teams trying to clear and secure the ball. But the toads were playing in their element in front of thousands of rabid fans and finally came away with the ball, when after the Soilers nearly cleared the ball a failed dodge allowed Laymaar 'High' Divens to scoop up the bounce. Rain? What rain? This was toad turf!
Laymaar streaked away from the pack and looked like a score was assured, but a successful leaping blitz (notably lacking in these teams first two matchups) by the strip ball wardancer Scare'Ray Chilledless ended that possibility. Still, the Batrachians were not to be denied and due to numbers near the ball, managed to clear the woodies so Anquan Boundin' could grab the ball and run in for the score!
The weather cleared with a vengeance as the bright sun came out just in time for the last woodie drive. Again, the coaches nodded knowingly, as there was bound to be some passes if the woodies hoped to score undermanned. And they nearly did! But the sun got in their eyes and their pass play on their final turn was fumbbled securing a 2-0 win for the Batrachians.
