A wild game that included tough choices early on positioning and then devolved into a dicing in the second half.
To start the game (and really continuing throughout the first 15 turns) - the chaos had terrible blocking...lots of pushes and skulls and the knockdowns were fairly weak. Did get a KO on turn 1 and later surfed a guy for a SI. However, for the most part the blocking was weak...although we did nothing either in the first half. Until turn 4 when we saw an opening and used our fireball...it was an excellent one - took down all 3 players - including KO on his AG 5 ballcarrier. We did not stop there - our runner grabbed the ball and passed out to our AG 2 troll slayer...it looked good, but then the troll slayer snaked a gfi on the next turn. (Our only real fail of the game.) The chaos took the ball back and passed it to midfield, but we knocked the ball away and picked it up - tossing it half the length of the field to our blitzer in the endzone...who dropped it! The blitzer was surfed (but the chaos even had to RR the 2d blitz just to get a push for the surf). It was down to the last turn for each of us - could have been 1-0, 0-0 or 0-1...first the chaos had their chance: 3+ pickup / 5+ pass / 3+ catch / 3+ handoff for the score...with 1 RR...so what do they do? Fail the pickup! We had a few chances to block some guys to improve our chances...but it came down to our runner doing a 3+ dodge / 2+ dodge /3+ pickup with sure hands /2+ dodge with a team RR. No problem for the runner and we are up 1-0 at the half.
The second half turned into a laugher as we received the ball and inflicted 3 CAS on the first turn. The chaos did nothing in return and we inflicted 3 more CAS over the next two turns. We then ground them down - clearing the pitch and scoring late.
Thanks for the game!”
