For my part, I was delighted you scored in three, I felt it was to my huge advantage. Sadly, I was pretty unlucky with AV rolls, and so many Elves left the field from so few blocks.
Hey ho, it happens. My team were only in for fun, they were in no way 'major ready' - whatever that is. I was stricken by some sort of stomach bug straight after kickoff (the Moreleys reference), but I don't think having to stop to visit the toilet every five minutes really made a difference. This game was the start of a run of awful stuff this weekend.
“For the second round of this WO tournament, the rats are facing a dark elf team with few experienced players. The dark elf had a rough first round and healing had to be used on the star witch to have a chance in the game.
On the other side, the skavens are also suffering from the previous game with a rookie gutter and another one recovering.
With 11 players against, the skavens will try to hit hard and score fast to keep th hitting coming.
The 1-0 for the skavens comes fast indeed, with a 3 turn TD score on kick-off. The elves are being more cautious and manage to stall until turn 8 but they begin to suffer from both injuries (apo gone) and KO (which happened to be permanent).
1-1 at half time.
With 8 players at kick-off, the elves try the run and bait tactic. 2 blitzers go deep as receivers while the rest of the team advance in the middle of the field.
The skavens make a 2 man marking on receivers and hit the middle cage to slow the offense. Patience seems to be their strategy.
It works pretty well. After 3 turns, the receivers are down and out of the field while the cage has to struggle to form correclty.
In an attempt to move fast forward, the star witch trips and leaves the ball carrier open. The strip ball blitz and a crowd bounce messes up the offence. They will try to recover (with quite some success at the expense of all their rerolls and 2 players), but the skavens are on fire and the last 4 remaining elves watch the rookie gutter score the game winning TD at turn 16.
A good game with Purplegoo suffering a lot of injuries in game and afflicted wy Morley's revenge IRL.
We go on with a full team and a bunch of new skills.”

All the best with the rest!”
