“What a game! I was away for the weekend and the during the 3 hour drive home I was so itching to play this game, a class orc vs elf, for their first game in the 2012 BB7s Annual Homefield Kickoff Invitational. The elves were the underdog but I bought a bribe anyway, wanting to maximize on their AV7. The elves responded with a 2nd APO that was never used and the 1st APO killed his patient!

The orcs received first but despite mb hits it was the elves doing the KOs first. The elves were able to steal the ball and went to stall. The Cultists continued surrounding/bashing what was nearby and forced the score. The 1st half ended 1-0 to the elves but they would start the 2nd half down on players 4 vs 7.

The 2nd half kickoff to the elves started with GTR opening up more fouling goodness for the orcs. The elves made a break for a 2TTD and was successful even though he was forced to drop the ball along the way. Elves lead 2-0 and things looked really bad for a extra slow orc team (2 players with -MA). That problem was assisted by the following kickoff that rewound the clock. The orcs ran the ball into the elf backfield but the elven ST4 catcher pushed the orc into the crowd. The ball got thrown back to the orc grouping in center field. The elves grabbed the ball on 2/5 and things seemed hopeless for the orcs even at +2 players. Then everything changed when the elf blitzer with the ball failed to dodge back and the ball is loose 2 squares away. The bottom of T14 the orcs finally score!

Top of T15, 2-1 elves, but orcs 6-3 on players. BLITZ!!! An elf runs back and gets the ball. An orc tries to dodge away to blitz the ball carrier but fails- last turn coming up. The elves 3 remaining players all handle the ball between a pass and handoff but they don't get far enough way. The orc -MA blitzer No Brakes put the brakes on the catcher and knocked the ball back towards midfield. Back Seat Driver then ran back, picked up the ball and threw it to Jack who scored! 2 TDs for the orcs in 3 turns- on to OT!

Start of OT saw the elves closer in manpower (6-5) and receiving. The elves quickly got the ball, ran it along their left and created a loose wall. The orcs created a hole, BH'ed the carrier, and covered the ball. The elves got aggressive to get the ball but failed to dodge away with the ball and left themselves in a horrible position along the sideline. The orcs spent the next 5 turns keeping the elves down and out to ensure zero chance of getting even a -3d hit on the carrier. With the elves down to 1 stunned line elf Back Seat Driver scored the winning TD!

Things seemed hopeless for the orcs even into T15. The elves had good dice early on but that cooled off. I think their lack of block (only 2 players with block & 1 died early) made the biggest difference. It was tight right until the end of OT turn 2. Thanks for the fun game cyric!
