“First half we feinted along one flank then switched flanks of attack to race in for the score and lead at 1-0. We managed to knockdown their ballcarrier on the next drive, but he scooped up the ball and tried to score, but the ball was free...we took the ball and passed it out. We needed 2 gfis with 1 team RR...failed the first one, made the RR. Then with no pressure, just needed 1 gfi for the 2-0...but failed.
Second half, we used a lightning bolt and stole the ball. Passed it free - nearly safe. However hamilton managed to get good dice - passing RS, multipled gfis to set up a block against a dodger, they got the POW on the RR. We then raced in and grabbed the ball, failed a gfi so burned our RR...needed a 2+ pass to get the ball safe and likely have the easy 2-0 win next turn. Again fumbled the ball. The Pact recovered and scored.
The final drive was in the rain - not a big deal for our AG 5 vamps - but failed bloodlust, then failed 2+ pickup ate our RR. So we had to 3+ pass, 2+ catch to get the TD now without a RR...failed the pass - and the game ended with the ball being kicked around by both sides in the slop.”

The Slayers did their vampy thing. Which fortunately included snacking on their own players. The Pact forced them to score quickly, since Coach SirAble thought for sure the play stoppage would get that chainsaw wielding maniac off the pitch!!. Somehow, the nutjob remained on the ensuing kickoff. The ref's pockets looked strangely heavy.
The vamps almost managed a steal, and on the counter attack, the Pact looked home free!! but that idiot Sazio fumbled the ball. The vamps quickly took it the other way, and the only thing that stopped Calgary from putting the game on ice by half time... was their own feet.
The second half saw the Pact try a more methodical killing approach, and things were going well until a lightning bolt came out of nowhere!!! Blessedly we were able to recover and take the ball in for the score. With only a few players left on the slayer side of the pitch, Hamilton decided to go for the W...that's when the rain started... and the slick conditions meant no one could do anything useful with the ball. resulting in a 1-1 tie.
SirAble commented after the game: "you know, i can't really tell if we were damn lucky to walk out of here with a tie or they were!"
Star: Big Ben - took a chainsaw to the face, got smacked around a fair bit. Even had to apo him. He stuck through it and smashed 3 casualties for 6spp.
