“The vampires started strongly against the dark elves and despite some early handling errors managed to recover the ball and get down for their first touchdown. However the wispy clouds parted and the field was bathed in blinding sunlight. Distracted by the rapid application of factor 666 sunblock the vamps set up their defence. The elves sensed the unease in the vampire ranks and smashed through the thrall line putting two into the injury box. The sight of blood on the pitch overcame Duke McBighty who used team rr to overcome blood lust but then skulled out on his blitz. The dark elves took advatange and quickly equalised.
A swift shot of single malt got the vamps back in the game and despite another thrall being stretchered off to the injury box they got a vamp into scoring position. All he needed was a 2+ dodge to be in position to receive a scoring pass.
He didn't get there. The elves sensing victory put a vampire in the injury box to join 3 of his thrall teammates.
Second half and the depleted vampire teams fought gamely but couldn't cover the field to prevent another elf score. 2-1 down the 6 remaining members lined up and managed to get the ball halfway into the elf half. Duncan McSirt bravely took down the vampire and the ball bounced right into a waiting elf hand. Another score put the game beyond the vampires.
Postgame the vampires blamed the bright sunlight and demanded their next match be played in the nearest dungeon arena. ”
