“Crown Of Sand III Qualifier V round 3

So close to the finals of the qualifier, the beared boys could almost taste it. But the lizards of Laget runt! used an illegal bribe to buy the ref completely off the books. The Tools' coach will be filing a formal protest with the Umpire's union over this fiasco. 2 fouls by the Tools, 2 send-offs. 2 fouls by scalies, 0 send-offs.

Overall, a fun game. I felt like I was behind the 8-ball from the first turn as we suffered an early BH that I opted not to apo since we had reserves. I didn't play badly, but I was reacting the entire first half and just not getting CAS. Although the Runts only got 2 CAS, they did get some KOs and timely stuns and I never really threatened the ball. My PoMb Slayers couldn't break AV 7 to save their lives. A crowd push will leave Buzz-saw with a permanent limp, but the apothecary saved it from being a RIP. 2nd half we couldn't get any traction as the Kickoff result was a Perfect Defense and we didn't get nearly the number of opening blocks I was hoping for. Fumbled the first pick-up, rolled at least 2 double skulls at bad times that I can remember (is there ever a good time for a double skull?), and the only CAS from the Tools was Rake (with no Tackle or Mighty Blow) on a skink. The lizards even got good bounces when the ball was being booted around and all we could do was watch from the outside as they scored a final TD. At least it wasn't that AV 7 punk, Defensiv mittfältare. Armor busted my @$$ :)

Good game, BooAhl. In spite of the mediocre dice and all my grumbling, I was definitely outplayed. I couldn't overcome your speed nor could I punch through your wall of Sauri, and I think even if I could have tied it up in regulation you still would have won in OT. But I would have liked to see my Tools do better. I'm very disappointed in them, but also proud that we made it this far. It's the farthest I've ever advanced in a major and only 2 perms from 3 games so I still have a team to compete with. Good luck to you the rest of the way, but I still hope dwarves win the qualifier :)

update: This game ended my 10 game non-losing streak. I knew I should have played a pick-up game last night but I wanted to continue the streak with this game :) Better to go out with a bang than a sputter.”
