“A tough battle between two resilient teams. Played in a blinding snow storm, the game resembled a trench battle more than a Blood Bowl game. The first half of the match was contested around the line of scrimmage. Brutal Crimson attempted to feint left and then break right, but the Neverwheres were well organised and shifted defensive posture. Play broke down just inside the Brutal Crimson half and very little progress was made in either direction. Players were wary of picking up the ball in the driving snow and instead a grinding fist fight broke out with repeated knockdowns, but no casualties on either side.
The snow continued through the second half. Receiving the kick, the more experienced Neverwheres looked favourites to score and win the game. However, Brutal Crimson deployed their secret weapon – Nobbla Blackwart and his trusty chainsaw. The second half was as tough as the first. The Neverwheres ground their way into the Brutal Crimson half, but progress was slow. Nobbla excelled himself, going on a chainsaw rampage and taking down Trollslayers, Blitzers and Runners. Nobbla’s ability to chop down the dwarf line was a huge factor in allowing Brutal Crimson to hold off the advance of the Neverwheres. Play broke down late in the second half and neither side could move the ball. The result was a hard fought 0 – 0 draw. ”
