“What a game folks. This is what puts the Blood in Bloodbowl. The rookie humans come into the match against a Chaos pact squad with a couple of games under their belt and a Star coach in Palorrin. Most money had to have been on the Knights of Chaos, as their star elf was clearly the best player on the field and the hulking minotaur dwarfed the opposition.

Still, the Roughnecks had the Bloodweiser babes on their side to lift their spirits and make them forget about minor concussions and sprains.

The Roughnecks took the ball in the first half with the intention of scoring first and forcing the Knights to play from a deficit. It worked better than expected. Immediately, Shujimi took out his frustrations on the journeyman in front of him. Jabbing him in the eye with a spiked glove cause blood to gush from the gash blinding him and putting him out for the remainder of the match. Zander also managed a cheap shot that knocked a Knight to the sidelines.

Dizzy was not dismayed at the sights she saw. She pointed Jenkins to the minotaur gesturing to keep it busy and rushed down one sideline while most of the team muscle pushed down the other. It took the Knights too long to recognize the feint as most of them were tied up in the northern half of the pitch.By the time they could get help to the besieged side of the field, the Roughnecks were prepared to score. The lone highlight from the first half for the Knights was injuring the team captain Johnny Rico. For the remainder of the game, the catcher was nothing more than a cheerleader.

The second half did not fair any better for the Knights. A marauder managed to pick up and throw the ball, but the silly elf could not even catch it. (Perhaps distracted by the Bloodweiser Babes.) This allowed the Roughnecks to gain position and quickly possession of the ball. From there, it was a bit of a scrum with players hitting the bench from both sides. Albeit, far more Knights found their way to the pines that Roughnecks. In fact, Breckenridge got his season off to a wonderful start with a nasty block in the back of Rigel. The marauder fell hard upon the spiked boot of Sugar Watkins and never moved again.

Typical of the way the match had gone, Dizzy dusted herself off after being knocked down by the minotaur. She then dodged away, moved into a tackle zone to pick up the ball, dodged back out, and completed a long pass to Carmen who walked in for the second score of the night as time expired.

As Kondor shook hands with Coach Palorrin all he could do is shake his head and shrug. The Knights brought paper armor today, and the Roughnecks managed to appease Nuffle.
