At long last, a victory against vampires! This particular race has been a thorn in my side for a while now. Though I can't attribute this game to any great skill on my part.
The wizard worked like a charm and practically handed me a defensive TD. I opted for a fireball on 4 vamps and 1 of my own zombies, but the end result was as if I had used Lightning Bolt - KO on the ball carrier and everyone else was safe. The other deciding factor was the KO rolls for team Blockbuster - lousy (but great for me). Both CAS against me were ghouls, so no regen rolls. The vamps made at least 1 regen roll and used the apo on a BH vamp. They also had a nice defensive score of their own at the beginning of the 2nd half. I blame all that Hypnotic Gaze, but an open POW on my Blodge ball-carrier didn't help. The resulting Stun really sealed it [edit/correction - the POW wasn't on the ballcarrier, it was on a corner of the partial cage. The ballcarrier fell when he snaked a dodge, with the dodge skill. Stupid Ag4 :/ ].
Fortunately the gholas of Dune were able to rally and score on T16. The last kickoff saw a lot of failed Blood Lusts and a failed pass (or maybe it was the catch) and the game ended none to soon for the poor thralls who suffered a BH bite at the end.
Thanks for a challenging game, Zoesky. Good luck with the vamps, and hope to see you again on the pitch.”
