“An epic struggle between my up and coming Morituri and the legendary Blood Sea Buccaneers on their quest to become the longest lived human team on FUMBBL! The game started in a blinding blizzard and the norse took this to be a good omen from the All-Father! The Black Watch even got an opening kick off Blitz!, but Olaf decided not to use his new Catch skill even though he was right under the ball. No matter, Yorgi drew first blood on Owens and earned his first ever CAS! The crowd thought Owens was a goner for sure, but the apothecary was able to get him on his feet and into the locker room. Coach PainState was heard grumbling about him being a 'cancer' to the team and some folks think he regretted using the apothecary. But Olaf next decided not to use his Sure Hands either and pick up the ball for what would have been a guaranteed TD. Then the All-Father withdrew his blessing from the Black Watch and the Bucs began to grind them down to nothing. Still, those Morituri on the field put up a valiant defense and actually kept the Bucs out of the endzone. Either that, or the 2nd best humans in all of FUMBBL decided they could easily beat the ball out of the battered norse in the 2nd half. That wasn't to be, as the Black Watch were able to get the ball down field and score mid way through the half. Though not without a few more losses, including Sven who basicly sat 14 turns out in the dugout nursing a mead and his wounded pride. Sven, I hereby give you notice that if you miss one more KO roll I'm gonna put you on the LOS! The Bucs used their numbers advantage and pressed deep into Black Watch territory with plenty of time to score. The Morituri had 2 shots on the ballcarrier, Walker, but only took 1 of them and couldn't bring him down. Walker rumbled into the endzone with time expiring, though not before getting 1 final KO on Olaf.

Great game, though I'm disappointed in Sven and Olaf's performances. They should have performed better to honor your glorious quest to become the best human team on FUMBBL and they will be punished. No more soft ice pitches for practice any more! Not until they get a win. The team also mourns the passing of linewarrior Eric, who was the team's oldest (and will remain so for at least 2 more games) player. Brave, strong (S4), and cunning (Dirty Player), Eric played in all 27 of the team's games and led by example. His example being, take someone out before you leave the pitch. If only all the Black Watch would follow that example. We also mourn the passing of Ibar, the first of the "I" brothers to leave the team's bench for the halls of Valhalla. Drink hard, brave line-warrior, just as you played in this realm.
