Thug Life’s third game of the Rookie League saw them take on the speedy Elven attack of Ulthuan Silver. The Elves received and began a quick wide zone break, bypassing the heavily packed line of scrimmage. The Thugs scrambled to cover this attack, but after a spell of heavy blocks the Elf ball carrier broke away to the mid-field, covered by linemen colleagues. The Thugs pursued, and Ice Cube the blitzer dived in with a ferocious tackle that drove the ball carrier to the ground with such violence that it killed him! A scramble for the ball followed, but ultimately it was the Sure Hands of Method Man who retrieved it. The Thugs caged up and ground their way down the field for a last turn TD.

A second half touchback put the ball in the hands of 50 Cent. However, the Orcs got too eager for violence and a reckless blitz from a Black Orc ended with the big greenskin flat out in the dirt! Ulthuan Silver counterattacked swiftly, but fortunately for the Orcs, they were unable to strike at the ball carrier. Shaking off this early scare, the Orcs set about grinding their way into the Elven half. A late half TD made the score 2 – 0.

There was a painful sting in the tail for Ulthuan Silver. Breaking fast for a consolation score, the Elves pushed out wide. Thug Life were expecting the break and a pack of Orc blitzers closed in. Brawling in the wide zones culminated with an Elf blitzer being shoved off the pitch by GZA. Unfortunately for the Elf, he was shoved straight into the rabid Orc fans, who promptly tore him apart! The game ended on this gory note.

In the aftermath, bloodstained Orc fans had to be herded out of the stadium at sword point so that the remains of the unfortunate High Elf could be recovered....

#2 Andy 'Solo Cornet' Keys – Dead (RIP)
#10 Neil 'Eb Bass' Rogers – Dead (RIP)
The first game of Ulthuan's premier brass band turned Blood Bowl team didn't strike a high note! With two deaths and multible bruised ego's the team walked off the pitch hanging their heads knowing they needed more practice. After a blitzing start Andy Keys found himself out in front with the endzone in sight, unfortunately he was too eager and didn't see the orc coming up behind him. The resulting tackle wasn't pretty, after they pulled the orc off poor Andy he was more a puddle than an elf. Concerning Andy the bands Euphonium player, Robert Young, had this to say "He was a fine lad was Andy, his tone will be missed."
Although even in death Andy was still usefull to the team. With a black orc falling over due to Andy's blood two of Ulthuan's linemen were free to get passed.

Andy was not the only casulty however, Ulthuan Silver's principle Eb bass player Neil Rogers took a turn for the infermary after being caught too close to the sideline and being pushed into a waiting crowd of die hard Thug Life fans. The resulting howls of pain shook every elf in the stadium too the core.

It was not all doom and gloom however. Jim Cuttings, Ulthuan's soprano cornet player, was in fine form making a number of passes and earning the mvp of the match. In the after match conferance Jim commented with "Yes today went quite well for me, I definatly feel myself improving and I'm sure after a bit more practice and a few more games the team will be right with me."

With the expense of going from brass band to blood bowl team the bands treasury is now quite low. The teams Coach had this to say "Unfortunatly we will not be able to fill our open positions with permanent players, So we will be hiring depts for the forseeable future. Thank you."
