I managed to turn the ball over in the 2nd period, and fast runner Roh Pitcutter broke free.
I had rerolls aplenty. I only made a single go for it. Then I elected not to move a dwarf who needed a go for it to mark a skink who could get within range (miscounted, I guess). It was critical. Instead of 2 dice, I had 1. A previous block chewed up the reroll with a set of double skulls, and the necessary blitz (on the skink with diving tackle) hit a skull. Would things have been different if it were 2d? Absolutely. I wouldn't have bothered to make the other block first, so it was an easy TD and 2-0 and victory.
