The blitz in the first half was really big as it allowed you to get into position first and already sealing me off in my own half and forcing me to protect the ball from all directions. My blocking dice was not great either, but all that can not distract from the fact that I played way too timid and way too cautious instead of taking more calculated risks. At the latest in turn 4 I should have recognized that the perfect chance to punch a hole while keeping the ball-carrier 100% protected would not come along anymore and by going into more contact to force the issue a lot stonger. Instead I was too concerned about giving up a TD on my offense drive and putting my marquee players in dangerous spots.
I played too much as the elf coach that I see myself these days and only woke up in the second half , when it was already too late. Even than Dhaktokh played a fine drive. I thought pretty crucial were the snakes which I rolled with a beard on a gfi in order to block off the wing. It would by no means have been a garuantee, but it would have definately made it harder for the Zons to get the decisive break-through and secure enough players for the stall.
Anyway, sorry for the loss of experienced players, Dhaktokh. You paid a hefty price for the win that might compromise your chances to win it all. Still I wish you good luck the rest of the tourney. Might decide too take a break from non-league action until the next major rolls around.
Cheers!”
