Brutal match. Our Pombers brought the spiked gauntlets and bladed boots and tore up the Green Rage. Despite their superior speed and agility, the Rage watched helplessly as they only pushed their opponents, and their own numbers rapidly dwindled.
First half, the two teams clashed at midfield. As the general melee went against them, +AG+AG orc blitzer Frekka made and end-around move, and the orcs tried to outdistance the CDs for the end zone. Superunknown and his +MA made it there with just one GFI, and managed a POW on their blodging ball carrier. Out of rerolls, the Green Rage tried to muster a recovery effort, but superior numbers allowed the Collection to secure the ball and take it the length of the pitch. A brave orc lineman made a gutsy 5+/-2db cage break, but only got a push to force a GFI in the snow (which we made).
Second half was a grind and a scramble. A bit of help on the cas front helped the rage put up a bit of a threat on defense, and a dicey blitz by freak blitzer Krashk got the ball loose. He was promptly lightning bolted for his presumptuousness and was not seen again for the game. The rest of the game was a scramble for the ball deep in orc territory as players left the pitch at an incredible rate. The game essentially ended with 1 BoB on the ground, and a CDB standing in the end zone being handed the ball.
GG SvenS. I said it would all come down to cas. The way your guys moved the ball, if I hadn't blocked like a roid-raged bloodthirster all game, you've have had me easily.”
