“Not much too add to an excellent report Fabrizio wrote.
Undead are very, very powerful at this TV and my ST4 ghoul is a nightmare for no-guard elves with only 1 tackle. I can "cage" him with only 2 players and it let me play very efficient with my numbers.
The 2 3+ RR failed moves indeed made the game. I'm still not sure if my ghoul after a succesful dodge would have been able to score, because Fabrizio would still have 2db on him after some dodges and gfi (but no rr and tackle so idk).
I feel like this should have been a draw, but hey I take win anytime. ;)
Interesting match, very friendly coach and mummy interception! You don't see that everyday!
“Hmm, undead. I've never learned to play against em properly, always seems a struggle for me. Let's see if this one'll be any different :)
I choose to receive first and the first round of mighty blows at my LOS elves doesn't break armor even once and the ball-retrieving ghoul fumbles it. I send a catcher after the ball (not noticing that the ghoul there is st4) and get easily crowdpushed on their turn 2 :P No injuries though and the ball gets scattered all the way up to their endzone, an ok result for me. The ball gets crowded again on my turn 2 but the result is not as favourable this time. The undead gain control of the ball and while my rolls don't go as well as I'd like, they don't have too hard a time protecting the ball. Especially with the st4 blodge ball carrier, I have no chance to get him down without guard. I manage to keep him well on their side of the field though till turn 7, that's
when they make a cool chainpush move which would've got the ball carrier loose, but he fails the 3+ dodge with RR and they don't have anyone on scoring range for turn 8. Phew. I fail to pick up the ball on my turn 7, but on my turn 8 I get it up and try to pass and... a mummy interception! :D Yeaaaah! 0-0 to 2nd half :)
2nd half starts and I get the ball up, but when I try a pass on my 2nd turn I roll double 1s and fumble. Some of my key elfs get knocked out or injured, and they get the ball with a ghoul, but I get him knocked down. I fail a dodge and they get the ball again on the st 4 ghoul. I get 6 block dice on him but he won't go down. Not much I can do for the rest of the game, the ghoul is too strong :P. They form a cage and safely walk over the finish line.
This was the kinda game, where a few rolls made the entire match. The ghoul failing the dodge in first half was one, me failing the pass on 2nd half was another. Both were 3+ with rerolls, and had they succeeded the outcome would've probably been somewhat different. Oh, and the mummy interception ;). Still, that's what I get for not playing by the elf playbook: "Don't roll double ones". Thanks for a well played and exciting match! ”
