“Da Bonebreakaz were true to their name, as they took advantage of a weak blitz - and a wolf fall - to first badly hurt guard zombie Gumbay then foul Buddhist Palm. When a foul broke Iron Rings' hip, and we ended the first half with 3 players on the field, I'd resigned myself to another loss.

Still, we took advantage of over eager defense to nip through and equalize, but there was so much muscle left on the orc team that holding off another offense looked very unlikely. This was when our luck started to change in dramatic fashion.

First another blitz, allowing the remaining wolf and a ghoul to slip around the side. Madvig tried to blast a hole in the middle of the defense, and the blocks abandoned him. A turnover led to a surf on the thrower, but the crowd threw the ball back perfectly for the orcs. When a blitzer scooped up the ball with only a ghoul to beat, it looked bleak - but the ghoul rose to the challenge and knocked the ball clear, before passing to the wolf for the winner.

A great comeback, but we'll have to do the next game without the legend that is Buddhist Palm. After this performance, I have hope!”
