The Bombers received and to their fans dismay the offense stalled at midfield. A determined leaping dodging blitzing effort from the Hrungnirs popped the ball loose and was prepared to scamper for the defensive TD. In desperation Winnipeg drew on their own inner elves, they blitzed, recovered the ball in tacklezones, dodged away and passed the ball to big man Steve Morely who rumbled in for the TD.

Halifax attempted to even up before the whistle but unlikely failures at key moments denied them the half time tie.

Receiving in the second half, Halifax quickly tied the game but left plenty of time on the clock for the Bombers to score the go ahead goal. Strong defense on the sideline slowed the Bombers to a crawl and just out of scoring range the leaping blitzing Hrungnirs popped the ball loose but where unable to capitalize before the final whistle.

Halifax won the toss in Overtime and elected to receive. The bombers pressured the ball carrier deep in the Halifax zone but Duane made no mistakes and the chain got the ball deep. The Bombers made a valiant goal line stand but were unable to stop the elf-ball express.

The Bombers loss puts them in the Maple Syrop Ladle game against their CFFL Eastern Division rookie rivals the Waterloo Bulls.”
