“Wheel of Chaos - Round 4 (Final round of Qualifier):

A really wacky game with dice that were up and down for both sides...excellent play from our opponent which made the game extremely enjoyable puzzle with dice that were even enough to make it very exciting. For the most part we were dominated in the blocking/fouling and constantly behind in numbers. While we can usually out-elf bashy teams when we are low on numbers...it is not so easy against elf teams.

The first half started with us inflicting no damage and suffering a CAS and KO on 2 hitters via fouls early. Our dp was ejected on a stun - and we ended up with just inflicting 1 KO all half, so pushed to the brink, we had to rely on Fiona to score for us midway through the half...3+ 3+ 2+ dodges for the score...rolls 6611 :) Failing the easiest of the dodges, and the ball was loose. The elves took it, but we managed a great sequence (3+ dodge, 4+ dodge away from DT, 2d stripball blitz, 4+ pickup). The ball was not safe, and the elves knocked it free, but fend helped the position and it was their turn to fail - snaking the 3+ pickup...with an incredible stroke of luck as the ball bounced to our blitzer. We did the 3+ dodge, 3+ handoff to a linerat that we freed and scored to make it 1-0. Three turns left and the elves were able to equalize...we were tempted by fireball, but declined.

1-1 in the second half, the pro elves were playing for the full turn score while trying to remove our players - especially Fiona. However, with hope flickering and specs starting to leave thinking the game was over - we called upon our wizard...and he was something special. Nailed 3 out of 4, including KO (was apothed) on the ballcarrier. More than that...the ball bounced into open space...no tackle zones. Carla, our rookie gutter runner was unmarked and picked up the ball and sprinted towards the endzone - scoring to make it 2-1 in our favor. With Fiona capable of one-turning since we had removed one of the elf sidesteppers, the elves focused on trying to take Fiona down. This exposed them slightly and on Turn 15, we tossed everything at the ball, including Fiona. Two failed blocks against Fiona, and the elf thrower had to run the ball in himself...and with Fiona nipping at his heels, he came up just short!
