“Bulls won the toss and elected to kick. Bombers advanced to mid field but were getting pinned on the sidelines by a strong Waterloo defense. The bulls dropped Buck in his tracks but a fortunate bounce on a later hit put the rock into Milt's hands. The line cleared a path to the open field and Milt shot the gap, stepping into the endzone at the end of the half.
Second half was all Bulls. Madcow took out Steve Morely and Doug Brown as the Bomber D unraveled. By the time Plundar Thunderstrike tied the game at 1-1 four bombers were off the pitch either BH or KO. And the outlook for the Bombers in OT was dire.
The Bombers 12 man roster proved decisive as they won the coin toss and were only down a man. With no rerolls T2 was the game ender. Brendan Dunn killed rookie Simon Darkhammer and the Bombers secured a strong pocket on the sideline within striking distance of the endzone. Nick Fitzgibbons gathered the ball from a stunned Buck Pierce and completed a pass to Greg Battle jetting into the pocket.
The Bulls pressed but could only get a lone hobgoblin marking the ball carrier. Brendan Dunn blitzed Battle free and Greg sprinted for the endzone and the winning overtime TD.
A good match, well played by Nightbird. Key dice at key moments were the difference. If the OT coin toss had gone the other way it would be the Bombers attempting to wrestle the Ladle from Gainer.”
“Sigh, once again the Bulls are done in by bad dice at exactly the wrong time & the opponent benefits from key dice at perfect times. This team needs some real work or better yet some luck! Hand me the Ladle...”
