Endless Delirium is always leery of lizardmen; they're big, they're fast, and they can't be stopped.
But this game went well; early skulls and double downs forced Lustria Lightweights to use up their limited re-rolls very early in each half; continued skulls and double downs granted turnovers that allowed the wolves to run freely.
Scynthe made maximum use of this. Her 2 touchdowns in the first half put Endless Delirium up 2-0, a nice comfortable lead; since Endless Delirium was recieving in the second half, this looked good. Additionally, Pie'veloce fouled out an agi 4 skink and badly hurt it, even if the ref threw the zombie out. But a Perfect Defense mucked with the plans.. except for a 2 space gap on the top corner of the LOS! Mentai passed to Scynthe, who blitzed the skinks in the backfield; the skinks promptly blitzed Scynthe back, but with Vallast to cover the tackle zones, Scynthe scores on turn 2! BLITZ! Scynthe and Vallast leap on the skinks and Scynthe scores on turn 4! By this time, the lizards are out of re-rolls, and, just like the first half, skulls and double downs on the unskilled saurri prove to be the downfall of the Lightweights. Scynthe and Vallast, with wight support, rampage through, and Scynthe scores again on turn 6! Refusing to give up, Endless Delirium again lines up in a supremely aggressive stance; and a failed go for it means that Vallast has a free shot at the ball and at a skink! He takes it and knocks the skink down! But too close to the other skinks, who gang Pow Vallast and stun him!
And then Nuffle whispers to me and says 'well, if you'll try, I'll give Scynthe her 6th touchdown!'
So I do. Turn 8 of the second half. No re-rolls remaining. Scynthe runs into the end zone. A zombie moves along the LOS, to support Thog (2die block, no block skill) who knocks down the only Saurus covering Zerfall. Mentai dodges away from the Saurus he was covering (3+ with dodge skill) and goes for it to mark all the support skinks. Tanika blitzes! Goes for it! Goes for it again! Pow/Push and Double Down vs the only skink with a tackle zone on the ball! Double down it is and the ball is free! Zerfall goes for it, picks up the ball (agi 3) and then attempts a short pass (agi 3, no passing skills) to Scynthe (agi 3) who CATCHES IT! (For those keeping track: this involved a 2 die block that required pow/push or pow in order to avoid a 3+ dodge, a 3+ with re-roll, 4 2+ rolls, a 3+ pick up, a 4+ pass and a 3+ catch)
SIX TOUCHDOWNS IN ONE GAME!
Scynthe IS the leader of Endless Delirium, and let no one forget that. And now she can Dodge too!
Pie'veloce, for fouling one of the two agi 4 skinks so early in the game, gets MVP, and learns how to block.”
