At the end of a bruising first half, where the Chainsaw defense held strong, the score was kept at 0-0 by a lightening bolt which seriously injured the ball holding orc blitzer - apothecary to the rescue. Still, it was a sense of mission accomplished as half the thralls were out of the game, and just four remained.

It didn't take long for the remaining four to be bashed off the field. The six remaining vampires were quickly reduce to five as the freak Ardberg Assassin quickly departed in search of blood, but before he departed he knocked down pantheon and somehow bounced the ball into the hands of a Nosferatu teammate. The vampire was hauled down and injured by a foul, another vampire was knocked out, and just 3 remained with the Bullet Bub holding the ball. Game over.

Or was it.

One of the vampires dodged through to haul down the orc thrower. The ball bounced into the safest place it could be - at the feet of 3 orcs, 2 of them tacklers. The 2nd vampire somehow escapes the clutches of 3 orcs but the gaze fails, the ball definitely secure.

Lethal Lagavulin, the third vampire, had other ideas - dodging into the 3 tacklezones, scooping up the ball, then dodging through 2 more tacklezones and into scoring range. Still close by, the orcs descended, but fail to bring him down! The vampire nearly fails to go for it to score, but avoids the stumble and against the odds the vampires have the lead.

The shell shocked greenskins failed to equalize in the dying moments and, rubbing salt in the wound, Last Man Standing was seriously injured as well.

Coach Chainsaw commented, "Without doubt, the most ridiculous loss of my Blood Bowl career. When they were reduced to just 3 and we had the ball, I'd have bet my house on a Chainsaw victory. Sadly I lost it in a bet the other week."
