“The Ogres caused carnage this match but a single impressive Wardancer and some poorly mistimed errors on ball handling or intelligence left us without the win. Not the first time we have had that sort of story. But the ogres did so some grand head bashing.
The Elves comfortably scored in 3 turns with a crucial hit on by Ciggy Stratos on Little Lord Lucan just before they did to remove our ag4 (should have apo'd). We did though take out 3 kos, of which just 1 returned.
In the following drive the Ogres were bashing well (including a kill by Giant Haystacks) though Ciggy had a high success rate on cas'ing snots. The most crucial action was Tick's double pows on William Regal in turn 7 when a td for us was in sight. Kendo Nagasaki then had a chance to pickup next turn but boneheaded (rr'd) and dropped to Tom Cruise, who was then blitzed out. Gulliver Green had picked up but then sprinted too far and slipped. This left Tiny Tom Thumb with the next crucial action but alas his pickup also failed. Cruelly and costly our deserved equaliser didn't arrive that half. But only 2 of the 6 scared ko'd elves returned so we faced 6. It was a straightforward matter to smash them up and they started turn 4 with just 2 left. Ciggy had taken down a ball carrying snot but Regal had scooped it back up. Eventually lonely Ciggy pushed Regal over the line to keep the match going. The groggy Elves returned with just two players. Veith got the ball away and then we almost got a winner.
Snotface handed off to Haystacks but before he could go for a dramatic pass he .. boneheaded! What a time to go dumb.
