The first was the opening turn casualty of the dangerous chaos dwarf, Zakatan. Whilst he was being pulled back for a gang foul, it was still a great piece of luck to get him off the pitch so early. I expected Punk77 to have taken a wandering apothecary for such an eventuality, but with a chainsaw instead (*cheers*) the choice was made to leave the clawed dwarf out the game and reserve the apothecary for other matters.
Once that player was out, the orcs turned their attentions to the minotaur. After a few gang fouls, it was knocked out, but the bulls had gotten around the back. No matter, Pantheon to the rescue! However, the 2nd moment of fortune - this time for Punk77 - as he failed the break tackle dodge and the Pink Troll Killers ran off with the ball for the 1-0 lead on our drive.
The minotaur was back for the 2nd half, and so was the tactic of stamping it out the game. With bribes from the kick off result, Punk77 ordered some foul play of his own, and it left the ball carrying bull vulnerable to a blitz. The ball was knocked loose, the minotaur knocked out again, and the 'Saws ran in an equaliser, with 2 turns left to play, much to the surprise of the crowd who expected a stalled draw.
Punk77 had used all his rerolls, and a dwarf blocker failed the go for it to blitz. The ball was free, the goblin was on the field and the 3rd moment of luck was upon us. Orb surveyed the pitch, calculated the trajectory, and launched Project Isle beyond the anticipated range. The goblin stumbled but stayed on its feet and managed to get the ball and run home the winner.”
