I don't think any match has had me this agitated. The first few turns were regular enough, and I manage to score a decently quick 0-1. After that, everything turns into a total rape job. Basically everything I do that takes a dice roll fails or comes up neutral, like pushbacks-only. All the while javajim is on a roll, blocking me down and knocking me out with 1db, dodging 4-5 times with one player and throwing good passes. After a blitz on the kick-off table while trying to retaliate, I'm down 2-1by the end of first half, with about nine players on the pitch against eleven hungry Skaven. I receive and plan to even the score, but the kickoff dice come up with perfect defence, and things are starting to look very grim. I start thinking that I'll be lucky to pull off 2-2, at the very best.

My offensive promptly gets creamed as the Skaven defenses bolster around one side of the pitch. The ball ends up in the hands of a Gutter Runner, who remains standing after my blitz. Thinking this is the end, I watch the nimble rat run across the pitch and take cover behind the Rat Ogre. He's not quite fast enough though, and I get an opportunity for a final blitz before being left behind for good. This time my blitzer succeeds, partly. The Gutter Runner goes down and is stunned, but my blitzer also trips while dodging away from the Rat Ogre, and the ball is up for grabs. Two line rats quickly take up positions by it, but then javajim starts throwing some blocks before picking it up. The tide seems to turn here, as he comes up with a skull before long, and as we are both out of rerolls, there's nothing to do about it.
I blitz one of the line rats guarding the ball, and, finally, manage to do the two 3+ rolls required to pick it up, dodge out and score.
2-2, three turns to go, and the Skaven receiving. A draw might well be possible.

The rats start offensively, blitzing a hole in my line and running a few players through. With luck leaving javajim and seemingly ending up with me though, a Skaven thrower fumbles the ball, leaving it on the pitch between himself and the other thrower. It's still out of my range though, but I send two line elves through to pressure the closest thrower, and then attempt to gfi with my catcher, to place the ball in her TZ. She falls and ends up with an SI. The apotechary, who hasn't had a lot to do with all the BH:s and KO:s, does his job though, and Mitrian Wiwarin stays on the pitch. That doesn't seem to be much of a help though, as a Skaven thrower scoops up the ball and sets off, hugging the sidelines as he aims for a Storm Vermin strategically placed downfield.
Lo and behold though, the dice come up with double ones again, and the ball scatters to the audience, and is thrown back in right in the path of my downed catcher, were she to stand up and sprint for the endzone.
It's my last turn, I'm out of rerolls, and I never, ever expect plays like that to work, but there's nothing left to lose.
Mitrian, steely-eyed and determined, gets to her feet and sets off with incredible speed, avoiding the Rat Ogre's waving tail and leaving the rats behind her. Kicking the ball and catching it in flight, she is unstoppable, and sprints the final distance toward the endzone - she collapses there, still holding the ball, as the game time runs out. The elven fans jump from their seats and sing and dance with joy and marvel. Against all odds, it's a 2-3 win for Stormbringer.

So..in retrospect, I was admittedly lucky during the end of the game, but I'm still not sure that completely makes up for the amount of bad rolls I had, and the things my opponent succeeded with doing. During several turns I was inches from just calling it a day and concede, being sure there was no way I could win, and being hard-pressed to even get a draw. This game will serve as a reminder of how gameplay can turn and opportunities can arise when you least expect it, and to always keep playing on. Thanks for the experience, javajim.
