“The first match for the All-Stars was the infamous Dropped Dead Gorgeous bloodbath so they were understandable apprehensive about the thought of playing the necromantic team Resurrection Reavers.
But that match seemed like a long time ago for them. The team has been trough the blender of Dwarves, Chaos Dwarves, Orcs and psychotic Halflings since then and the survivors are battle-hardened veterans now. In fact, the rumour was that these grave dodgers had hired a wizard to help them.
The match started badly for the 'stars with Pray, one of the ghouls passing to another called Klaus, who displayed an uncanny speed for something that is dead and ran in an early touchdown. The 'Stars, on receiving the ball fought and dodged their way to the opposing endzone and camped there. The plan seemed to be to stall until half-time but being eyed up by a ghoul and slavering werewolf was too much for the Wardancer Artemis, and she had to run in the touchdown.
Amid the congratulations from her team-mates and cheers from the crowd, something changed inside of her. She had always been a dependable player, but never really stood out on the pitch until this moment.
As soon as the whistle went and the ball was kicked, she left her position and sprinted madly straight at the line of putrid zombies and hulking flesh golems. Just as she was about to crash into them, she leapt high into the air, completely clearing the line of defenders. Before anybody could recover from the shock, Artemis smashed the gobsmacked ghoul holding the ball into the turf, stole the ball and sprinted in her second touchdown. Unbelievable! After a moment of stunned silence, the crowd erupted with cheers, they were in for a real treat.
The second half started much better. It was as if the whole team suddenly realized the kind of players they could be. Following the example set by Artemis Zeus ran like an elf possessed anyone who tried to tackle him only hit air as he ran the touchdown home. Then Artemis had a lucky break when Klaus, the scorer from the start of the match, failed to pick up the ball. Spirits were at an all-time high as she calmly completed the hat-trick with a fantastic 3 touchdowns in this match.
Just when everybody thought it was all over Artemis managed to score an incredible 4th touchdown with some good teamwork in spite of the necromantic wizard, seemingly turning up late to the game.
This was, without a doubt, the best performance this team has show yet and we look forward to more in the future
