Jerry, Croodie & Moe
Pranks, eye-gouges, ROFLPOMBs, and other hilarity
Following their victory over the scourge that is Toronto, Halifax boarded their team barge and set sail up the St. Lawrence toward Ottawa. They brought with them a deep bench, including Sinnedbad, who had performed so well last game they brought him along again. They also managed to smuggle in an ancient wizard past customs at the capital city port.
Meanwhile, Ottawa had returned from an upset win in Hamilton and were figuring out what to do with half their zombies unaccounted for.
Halifax won the toss and elected to receive. The TGs immediately beat on the zombies on the line, stunning and knocking them down. Still high on last weeks win Sinnedbad charged into the middle of the Ottawa backfield and slashed werewolf Ken Klahmann, who dropped prone. For whatever reason Klahmann was the Khemri team's target of choice, and he was kicked relentlessly by skeletons. In the backfield, thrower Ramses had taken the ball from a touch back and started to box up with his Blitz-Ra protectors.
Ottawa retaliated quickly, swarming around the Hrungnirs line to charge the ball. Jim Croode meanwhile hung back a bit. Fresh off winning the POW, he took a side ways look at Sinnedbad, and that was it. He charged in and took down the hired-gun, hitting him so hard he never returned. The Halifax staff spent the remainder of the game extracting his sword from his own ribcage and prying out Croode's POW that had been wedge deeply into an eye socket.
Neferefre was angered and took it out on zombie Palebone, who was done for the game. What followed was an Ottawa onslaught by Croode, Moe Latrine and Jerry Clampwell. In the end, they had amassed 6 casualties between them, three for Latrine alone, and a number of KO's. Unlucky, Halifax only regenerated one of the six injuries. As bodies fell, Ottawa surrounded the ball carrier and Latrine moved in and knocked out Ramses, freeing the ball. A scrum ensued and Klahmann eventually recovered it for an Ottawa TD.
On the ensuing kick-off, Ottawa Blitzed! Halifax and swarmed the ball. In the end they were not able to reach the ball in time, but did remove more bodies from the field.
Halftime score 1-0 Ottawa
The second half saw an 8-man Ottawa squad receiving, while Halifax still had 10 thanks to a deep bench. By this time the ref had taken the visitor's bribe money and still continued to blow the whistle, ejecting skeletons. To the absolute shock of Halifax coaching staff, Ottawa had restrained themselves and not made a single attempt to foul. They were confused at this change in play style after reviewing previous Ottawa matches.
Ottawa ghoul Daemon F'Allen picked up the ball in the backfield while his team mates set up a screen. Some good play by Halifax managed to pin the runner near the sidelines and free the ball. After a scrum, Latrine found himself with the ball, but was pinned by a skeleton and a TG on the sideline. His only hope was to blitz free, and likely to a touch down with limited back field support for Halifax. After three casualties he couldn't deliver the TD after misclick where he rerolled a perfectly good both down to free himself into a skull. (Swear I clicked the die. :/ ) The small ray of hope for Halifax evaporated on a pair of skulls and Ottawa made an attempt to go up by two, but dropped the ball.
Final 1-0 Ottawa.
