What a match for the Armadillos today! Although the players would probably say it was less than fun with the unluck they had, they can't be unhappy with the fact that the Osnabrück Titans were even unluckier. That being said, it was a game that could've swung both ways for almost the entire match. And the fans loved it. Yay's and booh's all around, excitement to the end.

The Armadillos recieved the first kickoff and both "Stealth" and "Precision" ran deep, ready to recieve. The Titans set up a good defence and a miscalculation by "Lightning" left "Longbomb" who had the ball, way open. The Titans were fast to respond and "Longbomb" was felled by Ludger Lammers, team captain of the Titans.

Armadillo throwers "Longbomb" and "Hail Mary" was forced to ack as blockers and desperately defended the ball from the Titans, so "Fury" could get it.

It was then that Ludger Lammers fell and broke his neck. The apothecary tried his best, but it was inevitable; Ludger Lammers will never take the field again.

"Fury" took advantage of the hole the late Ludger Lammers had left and picked up the ball, ran down the field, where he passed it to "Bodyguard" who ran for the touchdown.

The Titans turn to recieve, and they certainly wanted to return the favour. A quick run down both sides by recievers Uwe Ulmen and Jonny Johnson left thrower Frank Furtwängler a bit open. "Fury" went for the ball, but came up short. Frank Furtwängler went up the middle for a pass to Jonny Johnson, but the high sun blinded him, and he fumbled the throw.

The Armadillos moved for the ball. Not able to defend it properly "Hail Mary" tried to pass it down field. "Bodyguard" wasn't ready for this move, clearly, and wasn't able to catch the pass.

Again the Titans got the ball, Frank Furtängler passed to Jonny Johnson, who had moved back toward the center. But the Armadillo players had seen the move. With help from "Stealth", "Lightning" was able to take down Jonny Johnson, and "Longbomb" was able to get the ball.

Again the ball wasn't safe for long. With a nifty move by Uwe Ulmen, Klaus Kümper was able to push "Longbomb" out from the field. The Titans didn't get the ball though, and even with both Ralf Ramsauer and Bernd Breitner defending it, "Hail Mary" was able to get it to a clear spot for "Stealth" to pick it up for a last minute pass down the field.

Alas, in his haste "Stealth" didn't get the ball, and with only second to go, Uwe Ulmen ran in, got the ball, and scored the touchdown. A very exciting first half it was, and a deserved one-one at halftime.

The Titans recieved at the start of the second half, sending no less than four players down field. With the high sun and previous problems handling the ball, the Armadillos decided to preassure Frank Furtwängler who was carrying the ball, instead of going for the recievers.

It was an interesting decision, however, it turned out bad. The Titans weren't impressed by the many Armadillo players running toward them, and simply moved away, screening of players, while blocking others. A safe pass by Frank Furtwängler to Uwe Ulmen saw the Titans taking the lead two to one.

The Armadillos went for the fast touchdown. With "Precision" running deep, and the Titan players trying for the ball carrier instead of stopping him, it was an easy task scoring for two-two.

Some really fast play in the second half. Somehow the two teams had problems stopping each other this time. And then it happened. The mistake that would end the game. Argyll McAlister failed to pick up the ball after the kickoff, and the Armadillo players weren't soon on him.

With that many Armadillo players around the ball, the Titans made some desperately weak blocks, trying to salvage the remains, but it was too late. The ball ended up in the hands of "Stealth" and with some good screening by "Longbomb" and "the Executioner" it was an uncontested touchdown.

All in all an exciting match, which could've gone both ways for a long time. In the end, Lady Luck smiled mostly on the Armadillos.
