“Grotty Little Tournament VIII - Round 6 (Round 3 of Main Draw):

A tough game against an excellent coach. Our first turn was terrible: pushes/failed blocks. Foruntately, the lizards one-upped us with inefficency and did if possible worse blocking. It turned around quickly as we managed to BH two sauras - the first was apothed. We seemed to be in control with a chance to really devastate the lizards, but a series of blocks opened a blitz on our clawpomber and was hit for a niggle (apoth saved). The rest of the half we could do nothing to break the sauras armor - but we did pile on the skinks with good results. Unable to contain the sauras they managed to knock the ball free briefly on a 1d blitz - but we recovered for the 1-0.

We put 3 SF on the LOS to prevent a one-turn TD, but a riot gave the lizards a chance - we did what we could, but ultimately they had their shot with a series of dodges by a rookie skink and 2 gfis...failing the last gfi and niggling himself.

The second half, the lizards pushed sidelines and we took out the Krox - and the lizards scored quickly. We had then plenty of time to slowly drive down the field. We continued to flail away at the sauras by could not hurt them. A 5+ dodge with no RR allowed a shot on the ball, but we recovered again as all the skinks had been removed. Another hard dodge allowed a 1d blitz, but it failed and we scored with 1 turn left for the lizards.

Again it was 3 SF on the LOS - this time no riot - so the game was over.
