“[145] Rookie League X Grand Championship

The teams that finished 1st and 2nd in the Rookie League finally met int he grand final.

This was a game that swung on two previously underperforming players - the twin Mummies of Worm Food Wanderers. A typical performance from one of these bandaged goons is to throw quad skulls on a re-rolled block and KO themselves for the rest of the match.

Not this time. They awoke from their tombs filled with absolute rage and laid waste to the Chaos Dwarfs. Two Dwarf blockers - both with Guard - and one of the Bulls fell injured and killed to the crushing hands of the Mummies. Others were KO'd by their ancient fists.

The fragile armour of the Chaos Dwarfs forced them to play permanently short handed and they lost the battle of strength with the Undead.

Perhaps more importantly, Honkie got absolutely diced. Dwarf armour shattered like glass throughout. Both teams made the same number of blocks, but the CD managed to remove a single KO'd zombie all match, compared to four casualties and numerous stuns / KOs in return.

The twisted dice were summed up in the final moments of the game, when a Hobgoblin with Dodge needed a 3+ dodge to score a consolation TD. He fell on his face instead.

Nevertheless, good game Honkie - I hope to play a rematch in the [145] Open League sometime!
