“Lustrian Cup VI, round 2:

Colourful Characters recieved in the first half, but Shrieking Bloodstorm started with a blitz! However, along with forgetting about fend on the power house Mr Brown, this resulted in surfing our own Tleloc, and a KO on Sceral, instead of surfing Mr Red as desired. Shrieking Bloodstorm kept up the pressure though and kept Mr White on his own end zone until turn 4; whereupon the numbers had finally turned and he ran end to end to score in turn 7.

But the crowd rioted! And the kick was a touchback to Tleloc! So Shrieking Bloodstorm moved carefully forward, instead of attempting the one turn touchdown they had planned, and while Colourful Characters almost stopped the score with a surprise MA 5 chaos dwarf blocker blitz - only Shindahl 1 die blitzing a hobgoblin and using the last re-roll to avoid a skull freed a skink to score, and Nuffle was with Shrieking Bloodstorm as they passed the final 2+ 3+ to make the hand off and score.

1-1 at the half.

But two major things happened during that first half; Shindahl was badly hurt by Mr Red, although the apo saved him, and then Zekstalk KO'd Mr Red during Mr White's run for the goal. And Mr Red never woke up!

This permitted Shrieking Bloodstorm to lean a heavy strength advantage on the Colourful Characters during the second half; the wizard shot his lightning on turn 4 but Mr Blue then tripped on Krrrrronk's prehensile tail and failed to take advantage of the ball. With Saurus setting up to stall out the entire second half, Malmir did the only thing he could; he shoved the skink holding the ball over the end zone and forced the score! This gave him 3 turns to attempt to tie to try for overtime. But Mr Red did not wake up, and while Mr Blue recieved a touchback, he got surrounded by Saurus including tackles and diving tackles.. but a 6 to dodge freed him! Only to fall flat on his face with a snake eyed sure feet attempt.

But Sceral too skulled out on a VERY ill advised blitz! No other Saurus had even moved yet! But Krrrrronk was covering the ball, and Mr Blue could not get it far away.. which permitted both Zeerak the diving tackle Saurus and Lizzea the diving tackle skink to sandwhich him, and Shindahl to cover the only hobgoblin Mr Blue could hand to, and Mr Blue was not up to the task.

Also of major importance during the Shrieking Bloodstorm drive of the second half Zekstalk attacked and killed super hobbo Mr White, and since the terrifying Saurus had not used piling on yet, the apothecary dared not get close to save him. The crowd voted Zekstalk MVP for this piece of violence.
