#7 Ross – Pinched Nerve (MNG) #9 Burt – Dead (RIP)
“and so to the final round of the challenge stage and a classic CRP matchup:
My nasty(ish) tin can Dorfs v the can-opening Chaos of Jesterius.
Luckily his prior match had killed his clawpomber and missinged a nasty CW. Even then there was plenty of Claw and MB and DP to be faced.
We started well, winning the all important kick off roll and choosing to recieve. But we couldnt hurt the Chaos and despite securing good field position and the ball nice and safe, his first 2 hits, the only hits of round 1 and 2, both produced cas. As did the multi assited foul he threw.
From there it got worse still, dorfs were flying off the pitch and the chaos were swamping me, luckily he slightly overcommited and allowed me to flee the ruck and power away with the ball, but too little cover could follow and it was impossible to stall up, so i had to score early leaving him 3 turns to reply.
Nuffle favoured me and a missfield left him in poor shape and allowed me to prevent the possibility of a score and then even cheekily secure the ball and punt it deep. So we went in 1-0 up. It cost us dorfs though. they were still leaving too often.
Second half and the chaos start hitting, but the dice do not love them and having rolled perfect defense it leaves me reasonably placed to wall up and face them. we do, but its a terrible terrible plan and they start to really lay the hurt on, with deaths and Ko's to key dorfs. Pure Nuffle chance means their Mino fails a 2 die with skulls, goes down and we get a hit on the ball. Extended pinball sees it pop loose and after several turns of multiple fumbbling Clive my runner clears it and heads downfield. The Chaos fall to fouling and the game is done.
A good hard match where Nuffle assited me greatly, but i maybe also did some moves that wernt entirely terrible.”
