#5 Harpo – Dead (RIP)
With news of the Dingleberries' loss to the "Souls of Sindar" HighElf team obviously being passed around, a selection of other Elf teams began lining up to get a piece of the action. The first to arrive were the "Darkside Doombringers", Dark Elves under the charge of coach Lamaar.

The first half saw Neville not turning up again, leaving the Halfling side to rely on Jeff to back them up. Receiving the ball, the Halflings were well aware of the Dark Elves circling around their flanks. The Halflings moved into position, with Wiggy moving the ball up next to the towering figure of Treeman Jeff. The next few turns saw the amazing sight of an Halfling cage (!) moving slowly downfield, holding off the Elves' attacks. Turn six saw the Halflings charge forward to within scoring range, with only Elf Blitzer Zaknafein able to halt the advance. Knocked from Wiggy's hands, the ball bounced out towards the sideline where Maar'Brall attempted to find a pass forward. This never came however, as the Halflings pounced onto the Dark Elf before he could find a target.

The second half saw the Halflings kicking. A Blitz meant that the Dingleberries' Treemen (Neville turned up at halftime btw), could launch players forward. Limbo stepped up to be thrown, and although falling on his landing, was able to get to his feet and catch the ball as it bounced from the kick off! A high number of POW rolls saw the next few rounds turn into a punch-up, with the Halflings taking the brunt of the damage. A particularly nasty challenge from Dark Elf Lineman Zith'lorran killing Harpo as he tried to stop the Elf's charge.

With a large percentage of the Dingleberries either KO'd, stunned or worse, the Dark Elves had an easy time running the ball in to score in turn five. The final turns saw the Treemen in action again, this time launching Yippy forward to distract the Elves' defense, closely followed by Willem with the ball. With the remaining Halflings charging forward to hassle the Elves' defenders, Willem was able to slip through to score on the final turn, the Dark Elves distracted by the wave of advancing Dingleberries (:D). A 1-1 tie ended the game.

RIP Harpo - 7/5/04

Yet another game to prove that Halflings are a lot of fun to play. Figuring out how to TTM helped a lot in this game too. A great opponent and recommeded to anyone. Thanks Lamaar. : )
