“The Cowboys took a risk choosing to kick and the Groove clawed, piled on and fouled their way through the Cowboys defence. Counter attacking the Cowboys landed plenty of hits on rookie rat thrower Shangri-La but the quarterback hung onto the ball and stayed on his feet. Reduced to 5 defending against 8 late in the first half, Cowboy's blitzer Asperson Thorn pulled of a crucial diving tackle to set up the chance of a steal and defensive touchdown, but after finally sacking Shangri-La, scooping up the ball and dodging away from his marker he tripped over his own feet as he tried to beat the clock sprinting into the endzone. 0-0 at half time.

None of the Cowboys who had been KO'd recovered in time for the re-start so the Cowboy's received with just 7 facing 11. Jeremiah Kool took control of the drive, judging his catch perfectly from the high kick and running left, then right under the cover of his dodging team mates. With only 5 Cowboys remaining they broke down the right flank and could not be caught and Kool added to his tally as the Cowboy's leading scorer. 1-0 to the Cowboys.

The final drive of the match again saw 7 Cowboys face 11 Groovers. As the clock ticked down the Cowboys desparately held the line before Thorn dodged and sprinted through to sack magically strong skaven blitzer 'Furious'. In quite literally the last throw of the game Furious recovered to dodge, pick up the ball and hurl a pass cross field but the pass went astray and as the fans lobbed the ball back into play the ref blew his whistle. Final score Cowboys 1-0 Groove.

The Cowboy's will take great confidence from winning despite being constantly outnumbered, but will have to find a way next match without their influential blitzer Hubris Rakarth who took a nasty hit and will have to miss the next match due to injury. The Cowboy's press office are calling it a 'groin strain' but I challenge anyone to see the slow motion replay of that mighty claw to the family jewels without a tear coming to the eye!
