“what a game for Warpstone tonight. Not much went wrong, while many things went right. Just look at the number of blocks thrown by each team..24 for the Ratz vs 65 for the Whispers, yet the casualties caused by each team was about even (3 to 4). Of note though, almost every turn there was at least one Skaven stunned, so it wasn't that the armor was not being broken, it was that the injuries were not severe for the most part.
I almost stole a TD in the 1st half, but ending up not being able to stop the Whispers from scoring on Turn 8. 2nd half, I did get the ball, and though I was down men (8 to 10 I think), a fortunate kickoff scatter let me get the ball deep down field on turn 1, and in for the score on turn 2, evening up the score.
Next drive it was 7 to 10, but Warp Zpeed really came thru, leaping and blitzing away. St3, Ag5, Leap, wrestle really makes a good ball extractor--and this game, he seemed to only get pows--didn't have to use wrestle. Anyway, I got the ball loose and scored, going up 2-1.
The next kick off saw the numbers even lower, 6 to 9 now, and the Wundaeral Whispers had plenty of time to score. As they made their break for it, the Ball carrier pushed a little to hard (failing a 2nd GFI), knocking himself out of the game, and leaving no one within range to get the ball and/or score on turn 8. Since I knew they could not score, I didn't even stand any of my remaining 5 guys up for the last turn..taking the Foul on Einztien, my CLMBPO (is that the right abrev?), but he was only KO'd...and just to make the apothecary feel useful, I used him to keep Einztien on the pitch.
Warp Ztone Flinger III gets his 1st skill (accurate), but is still a long way from the legend that was the orifinal Warp Ztone Flinger.
