Match report: first half
Slan recives. Quick snap.
Slan scored immediately, in turn 2
Nurgle recived the ball (damn perfect defence!!!), good positioned but ruined everything with a completely unusefull 1d block, that freed an opponent player and let the slan 2d block the ST4 ball carrier, for a good pow. Nurgle manage to recover the ball with the ST4 sure hand ball hanlder, but the slan lino wrestle/dauntless guy managed to 1d block and roll a pow, freeing the ball again in turn 7 and stunning the pestigor usual ball carrier. The good marking of slan and a failed 1d chainpush by a pestigor ended the half, with slan 1-0 and the wizard still to be used
Match report: second half
Nurgle recives, get the ref. In the first turn a Nurgle warrior finally managed to send out of the pitch the better sacker of the slann team: the wrestle/dauntless guy. A big assisted rotter foul only stunned the very good big guy (only 1 bone head, 20 turns played) and the bribe keep him in the match; caged the ball carrier and pass. This was the moment for the wizard, with his fireball, that did is work perfectly: the ST4/sure hand/extra arm/2 head/block ball handler is sent in the ko box, while a worrior is prone, the ball is free, but luckly for the nurgle, the scatter leave it in the middle of a crowd of nurgle players. The slann coach forgot about disturbing presence and after a magical 5+ pickup tryed a 7+ handover, freeing the ball... the ball scattered to an improbable warrior catch. The ball was again to the ground thanks to the -2d slann strip baller block, but again the frogs weren't able to pickup, due to the mass of players all there. The Nurgle coach decided to not try the pickup immediately, using the pitch superiority (10 vs 8 on the pitch) to create a better environment around the ball, succeding at it. The next turn (the fifth), Nurgles weren't able to take the ball, for the annoying shadowing of a MA7 slann lino. Slann leaps seemed impossible to fail and the half continued with the ball another time on the ground with a 1d pow from a slan catcher, and the half reached turn 8 with Nurgle coach forced to 3+ dodge and go for it to tie the match... The last turn saw a perfect defence that was enought to prevent a very difficult OTT (due to the disturbing presences)... overtime
Match report: Overtime
11 Nurgles vs 7 Slanns... coin toss... Nurgle win
Here the luck of slanns completely disappeared... the first leaped -2d block ended in a failed go for it and the only real treath for the ball carrier (the wrestle guy) is badly hurt... From this moment the match was too simple for nurgle, with some -2d block (without any usefull skill to do it) that didn't brign to nothing. Nurgle scores in turn five and win the match
Very nice match. I was sure to be lost when the fireball knocked out my ball carrier (sure hands to the other ST4 pestigor?) with the damn strip baller leaping around and all the frogs unable to fail a damn leap. But luck supported me in the end of second half and in the overtime (starting with the coin toss)
Thanks to my opponent for the very fun match. CHEER!”
