“As Jeremiah Kool led the Darkside Cowboys XI out for their FUMBBL Cup 1st Round match against Halfling hopefuls Los Sobores del Aji Seco he already had one eye on the second round. The halflings, obviously, presented no real threat to a team of cruelly efficient darkelves and the aim was to set down a marker with half a dozen touchdowns and build the tournement experience of his team. Yes, today would be a good day, the first in a long Jeremiah 'The Flashing Blade' Kool legacy...

Kool was slightly irritated to see the complacency amongst his team mates who seemed more interested in what the Halfling chef was cooking than the game as they set up their defence against the hapless looking team of midgets. Even Hubris Rakarth was busy admiring his kuckledusters and showing little attention as the ball was kicked. Before any of the Cowboys had reacted on of the midgets came flying through the air, flattening Rakarth, and sprinted off to the endzone. 1-0. What the f***?!

Livid, Kool took control. Picking up the halfling kick himself he made a run down the right flank ordering cover from the other Cowboys. But suddenly, out of nowhere, another hobbit came flying through the air and flattened him. Kool spent some time on the ground taking a kickin from the halflings before regaining his feet and marking one of the halfsized excused for a bloodbowl player. Hawthorn Tullaris, he saw, had finally regained the ball and with time running out in the first half it looked like the Cowboys would labour through to a wholey incovincing 1-1. Kool forgot his marker, distracted by the booing of a partisan crowd of spectators who seemed to be enjoying the humbling first half for the Cowboys. That stray thought was the last one Kool had. A sudden uppercut from below his field of vision took him down and from the blindside a half sized boot came in, then everything went black. And so passed Jeremiah 'The Flashing Blade' Kool.

Under pressure and outnumbered in the second half the battered Cowboys fought through the halfling line but dared not score, fearing the return drive and a 2-2 scoreline takig them to sudden death. To boos from the spectators the Cowboys stalled for as long as possible whilst trying to take out halfling star Cause Limeno 5 who had inflicted the humiliating first half touchdown. Finally they tackled the slippery hobbit but the halfling apothercary was quickly on hand to patch him up as Autevac Hellebron finally scored the Cowboys' second.

With only moments left in the game the Halflings again tried their throw team-mate play but it was not to be. Final score 2-1 to the Cowboys.
