Throughout my entire 35 blocks using MB/Claw (8 with PO), I caused 1 KO, and 0 casualties. My single casualty was caused on turn 15, from my rookie nurgle warrior on a thrall that was no longer important to the play.
Next up, on turn 1, azyx unfortunately forgot about disturbing presence on a key hand off.. and rolled a 1 anyway, after using his re-roll on a double skull.
Next, azyx and his 5 vampires (with 3 pro vampires, one of whom did not play at all in the second half) had 6 team re-rolls. In the first half, they picked up an extra re-roll off the kick off from cheering fans. So 13 team re-rolls for the game. He ended BOTH halves with 0 re-rolls, and still removed 3 of his own thralls due to bloodlust. He snake eyed at least 1 and possibly 2 key dodges to get the ball, and failed at least 2 other dodges out of a Tackle player tackle zone after already using up his team re-roll.
Thirdly, of the 5 fouls, 4 of them were spotted by the ref; the only one that wasn't was a turn 15 foul by Hurt against a vampire that was already out of important play.
Fourthly, due to pouring rain, in the second half (with re-rolls on the first 3 attempts), we failed 4 pick up attempts; add in a poor bounce and the vampires actually had the ball 4 squares from our end zone after kicking to us despite starting the second half outnumbered 11v7.
Fifthly, our sure hands player was killed the first turn he was on the pitch by a vampire who escaped 3 sets of tentacles and made 4 dodges to hit him.
Sixthly, tentacles successfully held (or forced team re-roll use) at least 5 times against vampires, and at least twice against thralls; almost every time a vampire (but not a thrall) did escape the tentacles, he promptly failed the dodge, except in the case of the dead sure hands player.
Lastly, on turn 14, a tackle vampire first failed either bloodlust or tentacles (using up the team re-roll) and then failed the second gfi to blitz my ball carrier when even a push or both down could have forced several dangerous (I had no re-rolls) dice rolls to score, and a knock down of any kind would have meant no Nurgle touchdown.
This game was truly a game of Nuffle love. Thank you Nuffle.
Thanks also to azyx for the match; I was alternating between pulling my hair out, and gasping with awe, depending on which team failed more recently for the entire game.”
